Lupe Fiasco's Anti Obama Song Gets Him Kicked Off Stage During Inaugural Concert (VIDEO)

Impact

Lupe Fiasco was "escorted off" stage Sunday night by security during an Inauguration 2013 performance in which he rapped about "not voting for Obama" during a 30-minute anti-war song that also decried the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.

What a party pooper.

"... and these the same people supposedly telling us the truth / Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist, Gaza strip was getting bombed / Obama didn't say s*it / That's why I ain't vote him ..."

I guess these aren't definitely lyrics suited for an inauguration concert. Where were will.i.am's uplifting and usually pro-Obama songs last night?

Fiasco was reportedly told to move on to the next song after the 30-minute anti-war diatribe. And when he refused, he was "invited" to leave the stage. However, organizers claim the artist's politics didn't have anything to do with the tossing.

As per StartUp Rock On official statement

"Lupe Fiasco performed at this private event, and as you may have read, he left the stage earlier than we had planned [...] But Lupe Fiasco was not 'kicked off stage' for an 'anti-Obama rant.' We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech. This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act."
