The secret behind the special sauce in at least three McDonald's franchises has been revealed: marijuana. Edward G. Patterson, the owner of three North Shore, Wisconsin McDonald’s franchises has been arrested for using the restaurants to launder money from his alleged drug trafficking operation. He has been charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to deliver, and money laundering.
Executing fifteen search warrants, authorities were able to seize several pounds of high-grade marijuana, eleven firearms, and approximately $90,000 cash. Also recovered were oxycodone and methadone, which Patterson also attempted to distribute. Four co-defendants were also arrested, while one remains at large.
The seriousness of the charges aside, the jokes write themselves.
