Meeting to Make America Work: A Call to Action [LIVE]
This Monday, January 14, No Labels will host the "Meeting to Make America Work" at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The grassroots organization's first massively publicized event will bring together thousands of citizens from across the country to discuss pragmatic solutions to our nation's biggest problems. Guest speakers include Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Senators Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Angus King (I-Maine), Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), as well as No Labels Co-Founders (Nancy Jacobson, Mark McKinnon, John Avlon, Bill Galston, Kiki McLean, David Walker, Ron Shaich, Jonathan Miller, Clarine Nardi Riddle), and newly appointed No Labels leadership Jon Huntsman (R-UT) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.).
No Labels has never been a third party; rather, a bipartisan movement, geared towards creating a space that has been vacant for years, a space where principled compromises are brought to the table and progress is made.
As founder of the one of No Labels first generation chapters in the country, I head to New York City tomorrow with Mack Bray to see what we can do to help students become more consciously constructive in today's partisan-fueled political battlefield.
