The Sun has reported that British girl band Girls Aloud and Olympic diver Tom Daley might be in talks to collaborate in a musical project next year.
According to the English tabloid, the band has approached the 18-year-old London 2012 bronze medalist about joining them on stage during the band’s reunion tour next year – wearing nothing by the diver’s trademark Speedo.
Daley, who has been object of Twitter speculation regarding his sexuality, has also been romantically linked to Cheryl Cole – one of Girls Aloud members who exchanged Twitter messages with the diver while the Games were still taking place. According to The Sun, the diver has a Cheryl Cole calendar hanging on the walls of his room while admitting he listens to her music “to prepare for competitions.”
Daley has become a staple in Britain after winning the bronze medal in the 10-meter platform competition and predicting the end of Chinese domination in diving by the Rio 2016 Games. Since then, the 18-year-old diver has morphed into a kind of English Justin Bieber with legions of fans screaming for him at book signings and television interviews – and celebrities like David Beckham and One Direction exchanging life coaching and even fashion advice.
