Seth Rogen Mocked/Sympathized With Justin Bieber's Dreadlocks Decision

Impact

When singer Justin Bieber debuted a head of dreadlocks at Sunday night's iHeartRadio Music Awards, it didn't take long for Twitter users to call him out on appropriating the historically black hairstyle. It seems Bieber didn't learn his lesson from past reactions to Miley Cyrus and Kylie Jenner, white women who've sported culturally appropriative 'dos of their own.

Seth Rogen had nothing to add to the perennial appreciation vs. appropriation debate, but he made it clear that, at the least, he thought Bieber looked pretty ridiculous. The actor and comedian went the route of understatement when he tweeted out this message for Bieber:

Rogen may have made the same faux pas as Bieber, but seemingly as a kid — not an adult who presumably makes his own style choices. Frightening, we know.

Rogen's ripped the singer before, calling Bieber a "motherfucker" and a "dick" in an appearance on the Howard Stern Show in 2014, as Gawker reported at the time. More than a year later, Rogen made amends for his harsh words, supposedly putting an end to his beef with Bieber once and for all. When he appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in November, he told DeGeneres, "It's all my fault; it's all just because I decided to be mean one day for no reason whatsoever," and said the two had made up in the hallway of DeGeneres' studio, Entertainment Tonight reported.

It was all Rogen's fault, sure. But then the dreads happened.

Bieber hasn't yet responded to Rogen's tweet, or anyone else's criticism of his dreadlocks, but it seems he may be on the actor's shit list again. At the least, Rogen's call-out was kinder than those who perhaps couldn't resist the temptation to compare Bieber's hair to, say, the Grinch's fingers.

But Bieber can rest assured of one thing: Should the Bieber Ropes ever need a touch up, Rogen's mom, Sandy, is probably happy to step in.
