Watch This Guy Make Popcorn Using a Hair Straightener, Because Why Not

For those who have ever wondered if their styling tools could be used to prepare food: The answer is yes. And is it also tedious and sort of gross? Also yes.

On April 8, Japanese Twitter user @p68qbhhurq9kxjc posted a 10-second video of himself heating up a kernel of popcorn between the plates of a hair straightener until — to his surprise — it popped.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the tweet had received over 10,000 retweets and over 13,000 likes.

As far as how edible the snack was: "I didn't eat it so I don't know if it tasted good, but it was insanely stiff," the user told BuzzFeed.
