This Teen Poet's Powerful Story About Domestic Abuse Is a Lesson for Girls Everywhere


The first time this 16-year-old's boyfriend hit her, she did something unexpected:

So hard he started gushing blood. 

She manifested her experience in a defiant poem at the 2016 Louder Than a Bomb slam poetry finals in Boston in May.
