The X Factor USA 2012 Auditions: Khloe, Not Kim Kardashian to Host the X Factor

Culture

Move over Kim Kardashian, America's favorite Kardashian is someone else.

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian is being mentioned as a potential host of The X Factor USA Season 2. The 28-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardahsians, and Khloe And Lamar star reportedly impressed producer Simon Cowell and other Fox executives in an audition to attract younger viewers to the upcoming second season of the reality singing competition -- spun off from the famous British show by the same name.

Though other stars are also being considered -- DWTS's Kelly Osbourne, Extra's Mario Lopez and WWE's Stacy Keibler -- to replace Steve Jones as the host of the show's second season, a source told TMZ that Kardashian has "an 85% chance of being selected." And she's obviously thrilled.

"I'm a big fan of The X Factor. I've always wanted to do hosting or talk show hosting, so it's definitely something that I would love to do and would be honored to do ... To be on such a huge show like that with those judges, I would have so much fun doing that. I love Simon (Cowell). I think he's amazing," Kardashian, who coincidentally has some time off as a result of NBA husband Lamar Odom's refocusing less on entertainment and more on the Los Angeles Clippers, said.

If selected she would join judges Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell on the live shows once they begin in October.

Meanwhile, Britney Spears, who's hopping to achieve a comeback on the heels of the popular show (just as previously attempted by Paula Abdul and Jennifer Lopez, on American Idol), almost had to quit the first day on the job. The singer, who signed a rumored $15 million contract be there, reportedly walked off the set saying "I'm not sure I can do this."

It all makes for good promotion, as another judge, singer Demi Lovato, reportedly spat on infamous Cowell in the beginning of a rocky on-screen relationship which promises to provide plenty of reality television drama to the franchise -- once it returns to U.S. screens on September 12.
