2016 MTV VMAs winners: Here's the complete list of who took home the biggest awards
The year's most contentious and turnt up award show, the MTV Video Music Awards, is finally here. Starting at 9 p.m. Eastern, MTV will be handing out their coveted moonmen trophies for the best music videos of the year in all genres.
Going into the show, Beyoncé leads with 11 nominations for her phenomenal Lemonade. She has a 12th as a part of Destiny's Child, who are nominated in the best electronic video category for their feature in 99 Souls' "The Girl Is Mine" video. Adele has the second-most nominations with eight, though her record-breaking "Hello" has the most nominations for any one song, with seven.
A voting academy and fans chose the winners in all the categories, save the six "professional categories" celebrating technical achievements, such as best art direction and best cinematography.
