Ashley Graham's 2016 VMAs dress proves you don't have to be super skinny to pull off sheer

Completely sheer dresses have been a favorite of high fashion models and women like Rihanna for years now, but at the 2016 Video Music Awards on Sunday night, model Ashley Graham proved that you don't necessarily have to look one way in particular to pull off the revealing look.

The pewter lace dress was designed by Naeem Khan and shows off Graham's bra and underwear underneath a layer of sparkly fabric. Graham also took this time to premiere a new short bob haircut, and walked down the VMA white carpet alongside the members of DNCE. A few months back, Graham starred in one of DNCE's music videos as Joe Jonas's love interest.

Over on Twitter, many viewers were super thrilled with Graham's look.

Curvaceous women like Kim Kardashian West and Beyoncé have slipped into plenty of sheer, nearly-there dresses before, but this marks one of the first times a famous woman who is plus-sized (Graham is a size 14), has dared to go sheer.

Now that she's worn the look, women everywhere who may not look like Rihanna or Beyoncé can rest assured there's nothing stopping them now.
