What we know about Abdul Razak Ali Artan, the suspected OSU attacker, so far
Early reports described the situation as an active shooter; instead the attacker drove a car into a group of people before getting out and stabbing pedestrians with a butcher knife. The suspect was shot dead by law enforcement at the scene.
Artan and his family were refugees who in 2007 fled Somalia for Pakistan, before relocating to the United States in 2014, where he lived as a legal permanent resident, officials told NBC News.
The Associated Press reported Artan was born in Somalia and living as a legal permanent resident in the U.S. The AP reported it was "unclear when Artan came to the U.S."
Law enforcement are investigating the possibility that it was a terrorist-motivated attack.
