The 2017 People's Choice Awards got off to a quick start Wednesday night with host Joel McHale entering the stage with a stroller full of babies in an effort to increase his "likability." After taking a quick jab at President-elect Donald Trump, McHale stepped aside so Dax Shepard and Michael Peña could hand out the first award, which went to Jennifer Lopez for her role as Harlee Santos in Shades of Blue.

"This was a passion project for me — as a producer and as an actress," Lopez said. "I just want to say thank you so much for loving this show, for watching this show."

Lopez was up against Lucy Liu, Mariska Hargitay, Pauley Perrette and Sophia Bush, but ultimately she was the actress to take home the win.
