2013 Grammy Nominations: Jay Z, Frank Ocean and Fun. Tie for the Lead
Wednesday night, the Grammy Award nominations celebrated acts across a range of genres, and made a case for diversity in popular music. Six different nominees tied for the most nominated of the night with five nominations: Jay-Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, fun., Mumford & Sons, and Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
A group of 16 different artists were nominated for three awards. That list includes, Taylor Swift, Drake, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Jack White, and country newcomer Hunter Hayes.
Comparative snubs were Korean pop sensation PSY, and American pop idols Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen.
The genre-crossing list of of nominees underscores the fact that 2012 does not seem to have a definitive album in the same way that last year's ceremony was dominated by Adele's 21 and Kanye West's Dark Twisted Fantasy.
