Justin Timberlake New Album Countdown: JT to Return to Music on Monday

Culture

Justin Timberlake is back in the music game, after a long hiatus, and he is set to release a new track from a new album as early as Monday. Given that his last album was released on September 12, 2006 (FutureSex/LoveSounds), the word that he's making a return to the world of music comes as quite the good news to fans.

In the years since Timberlake released his previous album, he turned his focus to movies (starring in the hit movie, The Social Network) and to entrepreneurship. But now he's posted a countdown on his website, featuring a short video of him introducing the new project.

"Someone asked me the other day, 'So are you just done with music?'" the 31-year-old said in a new video, posted to his website on Thursday. "[But] I don't wanna put anything out that I don't love … You have to wait for it."

This will mark Timberlake's third solo album, and reports suggest he's recorded 20 songs to be released for this album.

Timberlake is collaborating with Timbaland, Beyonce, and Jay-Z for the album. Justin Bieber, considered to be Timberlake's protege said on Twitter, "u got a good reason to be ready. I have heard some stuff ... #greatmusic."
