Best Rock Performance Goes to The Black Keys

Culture

In one of the tighest races of the year, Best Rock Performance goes to The Black Keys.  The Alabama Shakes' "Hold On," Coldplay's "Charlie Brown," Mumford & Sons' "I Will Wait," and Bruce Springsteen's "We Take Care Of Our Own" were also nominated for the award, but "Lonely Boy" took the golden gramaphone.  This is The Black Keys' third award of the night, also winning for Best Rock Album for El Camino.  They also won for Best Rock Song for the same song.  Auerbach also won Producer of the Year.  The band's rapid ascent has been greatly deserved, and even though I will always prefer Magic Potion and Thickfreakness to El Camino, this is still a fantastic, more accessible album.  They are still nominated for Record of the Year for "Lonely Boy" and Album of the Year for El Camino.
