Who Won Best Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway

Culture

Best Supporting Actress went to Anne Hathaway, who beat out fellow nominees Amy Adams, Sally Field, Helen Hunt, and Jacki Weaver, for her performance as the iconic (and doomed) Fantine in Les Miserables. No surprise here; she has been a front-runner for the award all along, and her performance also won her this year's Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes. And girl deserves it after dropping 25 pounds for the role! She was also nominated for Best Actress for 2010's Rachel Getting Married.

The winner gave a brief, eloquent speech in which she thanked her fellow nominees, her co-star Hugh Jackman, and her husband.
