Hugo Chavez is Dying: Venezuela Says Chavez is Considerably Worse
Venezuelan Information Minister Ernesto Villegas said Monday that President Hugo Chavez is suffering from a new, severe respiratory infection following a "strong chemotherapy treatment" — reported TeleSur.
"We have convened this national radio and TV message from the Military Hospital Dr. Carlos Arvelo on instructions from Vice President Nicolas Maduro," opened Villegas in a two-minute web clip published by TeleSur.
It's been two weeks since Chavez returned to Venezuela after the December 11 cancer surgery in Cuba. The government had admitted that Chavez had a respiratory infection and now Venezuela says such condition has "worsened."
Villegas also said that the Bolivarian leader's condition continued to be "very delicate."
