Thanks to Dellavedova (and of course, Steve Holt) Saint Mary's Advances to Play Memphis

Culture

So I was wrong about my pick; however, I'm still keeping Memphis losing in their first game as a First Four team has won at least one game in the first two years of its existence.  Matthew Dellavedova scored 22 including 5-7 shooting from three to go along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists, Stephen Holt had 18, and the Gaels cruised to a 67-54 victory over Middle Tennessee from Dayton.  This is the first NCAA Tournament victory since 2010 when the Patty Mills led squad took them to the Sweet 16.  This team looked really impressive, especially from three (8-14 as a team) and refused to give the ball up (only 7 turnovers).  They get Memphis next and this will be the Tigers' first real test of the year as Josh Pastner's squad, despite going 30-4, went 3-3 against the RPI top-50 with all three wins coming against Southern Mississippi.  Something about that seems a little off to me, and we will see on Thursday whether this team is as good as their record suggests.
