Jamie Foxx MTV Generation Award

The star of Django Unchained had quite a night ahead! Jamie Foxx received the MTV Generation Award at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards ceremony.

Actress Kerry Washington presented the award to Foxx, who had a montage of some of his work shown onscreen before he climbed on stage to accept the big award. Once onstage, he did a little dance with a cheerful Washington. While onstage, he thanked a myriad of people, including Reese Witherspoon's man Jim Toth.

"As a comedian, Academy award-winning actor and Grammy award-winning artist, Jamie Foxx is a triple threat superstar unlike any we've seen in a long time," Stephen Friedman, MTV President, said in a statement of the 45-year-old actor, who joins Reese Witherspoon, Tom Cruise, Ben Stiller, and Sandra Bullock as recipients of the award.

What are some of your favorite movies that star Foxx? I really liked Horrible Bosses, as stupid as it may have been. He was of course incredible in Ray, but you already knew that! Are you stoked to see him in the next Spider-Man movie? I'm beyond ready for that franchise to just crawl in a hole and die, but if the upcomin flick includes him, it's sure to be great.

A Texan, Foxx has been performing since the 80s. He reporting started acting because of a dare from an old girlfriend to do stand-up at a comedy club. Look where it got him! Maybe we should all say yes to dares more often. I know I could really use an accidental transition into fame and fortune! Hello Hollywood.
