Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest 2013 Live Stream: Watch Here

Culture

For the 98th consecutive year, eager contestants will stuff their faces with approximately a billion calories in buns and franks. It's an event like no other: the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. This is where heroes are born; this is where glory is consummated; this is where arteries are rendered hopeless. The competition itself is a lot of fun to watch, and if you're too busy to make it up to Brooklyn Thursday, you can watch the action (and the hot dogs) go down right here at noon ET.

The corner of Surf and Stillwell will feature an expected 40 thousand or so onlookers. Joey Chestnut is once again the favorite in this year's installment, having won the past six contests. He tied his own record with 68 hot dogs (you did read that correctly) in 2012.

The women's competition is headlined by Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, who edged last year's runner-up by a whole 12 dogs. A belt, $20 thousand in prize money and a world of health problems await the winners.
