One thing that makes this baby watch even more special is the fact that the child will eventually rule the U.K., regardless of its sex. A rule that heavily favored male heirs will be abolished with the newborn baby, making Will and Kate's offspring third in line to the throne behind Prince Charles and William himself.

The reigning Queen Elizabeth II was only eligible for rule because she was born without any brothers. The British Parliament is changing the sexist 300-year policy, an encouraging step forward for the often-archaic monarchy.
