AMC has given the green light to a spinoff of its hit show Breaking Bad. The show will feature Walter White's erstwhile corrupt criminal defense attorney Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk. Naturally, it will be called Better Call Saul —a play on Goodman's motto in his extra-cheesy commercials, and the name of the first episode featuring the character. It will serve as a prequel to Breaking Bad, which means as of now it is still very much up in the air whether Saul will survive the series' season finale.
The character has even has his own website, which features tacky advertisements from television's most memorable ambulance chaser.
Breaking Bad premiered in January 2008, and focuses trials and tribulations of a high school chemistry teacher Walter White, who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. At first he opts not to fight the disease because of the financial burden it would impose on his family. As a result, he turns to cooking crystal meth to shore up his family's financial situation, but is so successful that he eventually becomes the meth kingpin of the American southwest.
