Amelia Anderson

I have always been politically minded, particularly in the areas of abortion and gay marriage. However, once I went to college and began studying evangelical Christianity, religion's influence on politics became my main interest. I attended Barnard College where I majored in American Studies with a concentration in Religion. I am fascinated by the way that Christianity has become inexorably tied with the Republican party and how it affects both economic and social policy decisions. In addition, I am a special education teacher in the South Bronx and am concerned with the future of education as well as social reform in low income communities.
