Cecelia Danuweli

Cecelia Danuweli is a Liberian peacemaker and women’s rights activist. After fleeing from her village during Liberia’s brutal civil war, she joined peace efforts, working alongside activist Leymah Gbowee to organize the grassroots women’s movement that stopped the war. Their efforts earned Gbowee the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. Cecelia is currently an international spokesperson for peace and women’s rights.
