Michael Wu

Michael Wu is the Advocacy Policy Director for the Truman Project, specializing in the intersection of energy, international development, and national security. Before joining the Truman Project, Michael served as a Fellow at the Constitution Project’s Task Force on Detainee Treatment. Previously, he served at the Office of the General Counsel, Department of Defense (International Affairs), specializing in Afghanistan and Pakistan issues. Prior to law school, Michael worked on Capitol Hill for Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) and Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA). Michael graduated cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law where he served as President of the National Security Law Society. He also holds a B.A. from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. When not chained to his desk, Michael can be found playing, watching, or blogging about basketball. He is a proud native of the San Francisco Bay Area, and an ashamed fan of the Golden State Warriors.
