Academy Awards 2013: Best Picture Marathon Seems Awful

Culture

Each year, AMC hosts its Best Picture Marathon. The event is exactly what it sounds like: evey Best Picture nominee is screened back-to-back-to-back (this year, multiply that by three). This year, L.V. Anderson and Forrest Wickman from Slate and Scott Meslow from The Week chronicled the marathon of movies in real time.

The results did anything but make me want to go to next year's edition. Here was the schedule:

10:00 a.m. Saturday: Amour

The end result from each writer's adventure? They wanted to go to sleep.

Even if you haven't watched all nine Best Picture films (especially all at once), be sure to follow along with PolicyMic during the Academy Awards. They air Sunday night on ABC starting at 7p.m. EST with red carpet coverage.

Be sure to follow PolicyMic as we live blog all the action.
