Tara C. Smith is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Kent State University. Her research focuses on zoonotic infections (infections which move between animals and people) and she writes for various outlets. She also is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Zombie Research Society. She lives in rural Ohio with her partner and three children.
